Full Moon and Lunar Beltane: Monday April 26 8:31pmMT

Calendrical Beltane: May 1st

Astrological Beltane: May 5th- Sun at 15’ Taurus

Pluto Stations retrograde: April 27th

Deep Down Inside

Where all memory resides

Lies a key

That unlocks the doorway to your future

Run or hide

And search outside

And freedom will not prosper

It is stillness that reveals

The deep wellspring of the soul

And anguishes acceptance

That opens the doorways to beyond

Run and escape as we may try, it is certainly true that we cannot avoid ourselves for long.  We may rebirth many times, but the parts of us that have gone unseen will continue to remain until we let them have their time in the Sun.  To have their true recognition and release.  Recognize to realize.  Realize to release.  Realize what?  The freedom you truly seek.  The upgrades you are striving for.  The next level of growth you are nurturing.  All of the hopes and dreams of who you know you were born to be manifesting effortlessly.  Of finding that all you are worthy of receiving is already with you.

This Full Moon in Scorpio is opposite the Sun, Uranus, Venus and Mercury in Taurus so our whole inner psyche is getting a huge upgrade right now.  You may have noticed the highly electric energy in the air all week as Venus and Mercury were kissing Uranus, Lord of Thunder and Lightning, the Great Awakener and Liberator.  If we have been able to calm our nervous systems enough to find stillness, we have likely been sucked into the ascension potential in the field like sparklers waiting for us to grab their stick and direct the pixie dust at will.

Scorpio is the Wizard or Alchemist archetype, and there is high potential for having some very real breakthroughs right now.  Stay grounded and hydrated, find stillness in the eye and see what is ready to be realized.  Awakening is easiest done gently, with sweet words and touches.

How radically can we love ourselves? Accept whatever arrives at our doorstep and make choices to deal with it in the way that makes us feel happiest?  Sometimes our highest solution or outcome is not among the choices laid out to us by our parents, teachers or authority.  And that is totally ok, and actually quite amazing and liberating to step into.

There is a calling for us to be with our family, tribe and co-conspirators in life in a way that is radically new and more authentic.  How deeply can we honor one another’s experience at this time?  The realms of Scorpion also meld with those of Phoenix and serpent; both creatures known for their power to transmute.  But each must release something and allow for the intensity of the process to occur.  It is said that the alchemist’s work was as much about creating “ethical and spiritual conditions for their operations” as it was about the operations themselves.  In other words, most of the work was energetic, and not in the physical realms.  This is the work of Scorpio and the Pluto.

Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio and currently the warrior is getting his feelings on in Cancer.  This lunation is about feeling in every single sense of the word.  Feeling our emotions, our memories, last year, our shadows that creep up like bogeymen in the night.

The Sun with Uranus says- look at it.  Don’t turn away.  Embrace intimacy with yourself the way you would a small child who comes to you crying and seeking comfort- with unconditional love.  If we don’t have a shadow-work practice, this is a powerful time to learn about it.  We can also work it out through the body with movement, yoga, shaking, soaking or cooking something delicious for yourself.

We are celebrating Lunar Beltane with this Full Moon.  The halfway point between Equinox and Summer Solstice, the time when the light is overtaking the dark in the Northern Hemisphere.  Taurus season is about relishing in every savory moment of earthly existence possible.  There is a lot of Venusian energy still very strong as Venus is preparing to rise in the evening sky.

This holy day and its opposite point on the wheel, All Hallow’s Eve, are when the veil between this world and the otherworld is thinnest.  It is a time when we can connect more readily with the realms of the fae, the Green Man and devic realms.  Listen for the plants to speak to you.  Listen to the ones that call, they are your allies.  Seek new ways to work with them in your life, be it just being with the plant, or as essential oils, culinarily, as a smudge, bouquet, tincture or essence.  Simply hanging plants to dry in bundles in the home has been used since the dawn of humanity as a spiritual and healing technology.

A Scorpio Moon is when the most frightening, gruesome, unbearable things about this reality can be fully transmuted into something beautiful.  It is the composting work.  When life seems unbelievable, we achieve the unbelievable.  And in realizing that we have the ability to direct our willpower in such a way, we stand fully in our true power.  Springtime reminds us of the fruit, or flower of the deep composting that just went on all winter.  Let yourself receive the gifts of the work you have done.  We are all truly worthy and deserving of having and receiving everything we want, in every area of our lives.

Pluto is stationing retrograde days after the Full Moon, meaning that this lunation will reveal where we need to take our power back over the next 6 months.  Pluto governs shadow-work, shamanic realms, the deep parts of our soul healing, sexuality, desire, obsession and that which we repress because of trauma or some experience that told us we weren’t allowed to do, be or experience something.  If some scary shadow work is coming up, or even some gentle work, remember, that inside every shadow of our being is a pure desire for love.  The crucible of transmutation is in the heart, and it is through focusing on that pure desire for love, the purity of our own hearts, that we literally transform our shadows into our greatest gifts.

This is the gift of Scorpio medicine.  The place of cracking open, of burning and molting like the flying embers of the phoenix across the midday Sun, into the dark of night.  It is the space betwixt this world and the other, the place of Shamanic visioning where we receive messages from the netherworld.  It is the crystal in the wizard’s staff, containing worlds inside of worlds.  It is the mind’s eye where all is perceived and received.

There is a lot of energy around how we relate to our sensuality, sexuality and the structure and boundaries needed to do this work.  We are collectively tasked with healing thousands of years of sexual oppression preceded by a more animalistic Age of Aries expression.  We have both wild, untamed desires within us, and repressed and shamed baggage.  Perhaps you have neither personally, but surely the collective imbalances around our sexuality as a species are obvious, and we will all be confronted with that work in some way or another.

Taurus is about our relationships to our bodies and the material world, Scorpio to the pulsing desire and willpower that drives it.  We must attend to both to feel fully alive, seeking to be neither enslaved by them or neglectful.  Let this week reveal to you where your work lies in these realms.  And approach it gently, sweetly, lovingly as possible.

Blessed Beltane,

Zoey Wind
